Neha Gehlot in Desh Ki Beti Nandini

The beautiful and stunning Neha Gehlot who essays the role of Shoorpanaka in Life OK’s Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev has bagged a pivotal role in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show titled Desh Ki Beti Nandini.

The show produced by Rashmi Sharma Productions, makers of the successful shows that are presently on air Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus and Sasural Simar Ka on Colors, will be loosely based on the life story of politician Sonia Gandhi, as per our sources.

The same source further adds that Neha has been roped in to play the role of the male lead’s sister, who is married and still holds a keen interest in politics as she has been born and brought up in a political family.

Desh Ki Beti Nandini is slated for a mid-September launch on Sony TV.

Shreya Ghoshal left speechless by junior idol Anjana

Till now the talented kids of Indian Idol Junior on Sony Entertainment Television have impressed viewers and industry folks alike.

And this time, it’s going to be one of the judges who will be left emotionally touched by the performance of one of the participants.

The setting was when the top 4 contestants showcased their singing prowess in the gala episode which had the legendary singer Pyarelal as a special judge.

Roopal Tyagi split with Akhlaque Khan

Surjan Singh aka Chef Jolly to Judge Junior MasterChef

The ever jolly and smiling chef, Surjan Singh, better known as Chef Jolly will now enter Star Plus’ Junior MasterChef- Swaad Ke Ustaad to be on the panel of judges.
In a hearty conversation with Tellychakkar.com, the Chef talked about coming on board the prestigious culinary based show.
“When I got a call from them, I was pretty much surprised, but then a show like MasterChef is hard to let go and I jumped on to the offer,” said the chef. When asked whether the makers chose him for his ability to charm the kids, he smiled and said, “I am good with everyone. I love people as that is part of my nature, and I think that somehow comes across the first thing in me.”

The chef was surprised by the talent of the young kids, as he averred, “They are superb. They are not ‘junior’ master chef but ‘genius’ master chefs. Such a powerhouse of talent at such a young age is marvellous.”

Ammaji goes Modern

Versatile actress Meghna Malik, popularly known as ‘Ammaji’ of “Na Aana Is Des Laado”, is happy to give the audiences a different taste of her talent with new show  ”Gustakh Dil” in which she plays a modern character.

The actress says her new character is in total contrast to the regressive character that Ammaji was.

“The audience will see me in a totally different avatar in this show (‘Gustakh Dil) and I hope I get the same love and appreciation from them as earlier,” the 41-year-old said in an interview.

Besides a few daily soaps, Meghna has worked in a couple of films too, but it was her portrayal of high-headed Ammaji in “Na Aana Is Des Laado”, which brought her into limelight.

Javed Ali appears in Qubool Hai on special episode of Eid

Qubool Hai, which will witness a special episode on Eid festivity, will be enthralled by Sufi songs like Arjiyan Sari and Kun Faya Kun by none another than one of the leading playback singers of Bollywood Javed Ali.

Billoo Barber aka Irrfan Khan on TV

Khan, 46, who hosted some episodes of ‘Mano Ya Na Mano 2′, is set reprise his role as an anchor in National Geographic Channel’s show, which revolves around the real life experiences of people who deal with medical emergencies. “This show gave me a chance to go inside the emergency room and make people aware of the issue.

I am just an anchor on the show and have a very small role to play,” Irrfan told PTI during the launch of the show here. The series which is divided in to 20 parts will go on air from August 12.

Now, our source has given few more names.
First is Mahhi Vij who won hearts with her performance in Laagi Tujhse Lagan and recently danced her way to the coveted title of Nach Baliye with husband Jay Bhanushali. She has been approached for this season’s Bigg Boss.
We sent a text message to Mahhi asking for her confirmation, but she did not revert.
Another big name that has come up is the ideal bahu of TV- Smriti Irani aka Tulsi of the popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Her presence will coincide with last years’ popular contestant Navjot Singh Sidhu. Both being a member of parliament (Bharatiya Janta Party) and a known face on TV, it will be interesting to see the first bahu of Indian television showing her real self
on camera.
When we called up the pretty and sensible actor she laughed, “Every year from day one with Bigg Boss coming in news, rumours fly high with my name popping everywhere. Call me next year again with the same question.”

The final name we came across is Nikhil Arya of Tere Liye fame. When we buzzed him he said, “Nothing yet. But you are the third person to ask me since morning. Is there such a strong buzz?
